Rabbit Rescues & Sanctuaries provide a safe haven for rabbits that are unwanted, relinquished or abandoned. There is no shame in bringing a rabbit to a shelter for relinquishment.  Most of these shelters will gladly take in a rabbit unless they are at capacity and then you may be placed on a waiting list. If your state has no rabbit rescue or sanctuary and you are looking to relinquish, please do not let your rabbit loose (after years of domestication, pet rabbits don’t have the instincts to survive in the wild). Most regions have a local animal shelter that can temporarily take your rabbit and make arrangements with the nearest rabbit rescue.
