1. What is your business?
Fluff U is a magical, small-animal grooming emporium where every pet—especially rabbits—embarks on an enchanting spa journey. We fuse wizardly rituals with expert grooming to keep tails perky and coats gleaming. We help bring out the main character energy in small pets.
2. Tell me about yourself, your buns.
I’m Ayieta— also known as the Furry Godmama, Chief Grooming Wizard at Fluff U. My love affair with bunnies began the moment Ghostpepper, a shy lionhead mix, came into the vet clinic that I worked at and though shy, we formed an instant bond. I do not currently have bunnies as pets, I currently have 4 cats, 2 chinchillas, and a red-eared slider turtle.
3. What inspired you to start your business?
I began my journey at Tails & Scales Veterinary Center alongside a veterinarian I’d met during her relief work at my previous clinic. She was eager to start a practice that included exotic species and taught me the nuances of handling a wide variety of pets. On more than one occasion, we treated clients’ severely matted Angora rabbits by sedating and shaving them almost to the skin.
After witnessing this distressing process, Dr. Echols turned to me and said, “You should learn how to groom bunnies—I believe there’s a better way.” She recognized that my calm, soothing approach (as she’d seen with Ghostpepper) would lend itself beautifully to rabbit grooming. Motivated by her confidence in me, I researched and enrolled in a specialized rabbit-grooming certification course.
4. How is your business unique?
I’m proud to be one of only a handful of groomers in the United States with specialized certification in rabbit care (which also covers guinea pigs and ferrets). At Fluff U, we elevate every grooming session into a magical journey—each pet is honored as a cherished companion. Our enchanted realm is divided into themed “havens”—Hopshire for rabbits, Barkmore for dogs, Whiskerdown for guinea pigs—and, with every changing season, we traverse mystical landscapes like the sun-kissed Shoreline or the snow-dusted Sleighgrounds. With each visit, your furry friend steps into our storybook world, where routine grooming blossoms into a whimsical adventure and every bunny, cavy, or ferret becomes a star in our unfolding tale.

5. How long have you been doing this?
Fluff U opened its enchanted doors in early 2024, so we’re just over a year into our quest—and already helping dozens of fluffy friends feel lighter, brighter, and more magical.
6. What does a typical work day look like?
I’m the full-time Practice Manager and Veterinary Technician at Tails & Scales Veterinary Center. Whenever I don my Furry Godmama hat, my days include:
- Grooming small pets in our enchanted chambers
- Mentoring fellow “grooming wizards”
- Crafting bespoke personal-care potions for both people and their furry companions
- Weaving the fantastical tales that bring Fluff U’s magical world to life
7. What is your biggest challenge?
There never seems to be enough time to write all of the tales bouncing around in my head. Not having the capital to do this full-time (which is the dream).
8. What is your most popular service?
The Charmed Brush & Fluff is our signature grooming ritual for rabbit companions—a vital part of their routine care. Each session begins with a comprehensive hands-on health check, allowing us to detect any concerns and advise veterinary follow-up when needed. We then gently brush and comb away undercoat and loose fur, and, when necessary, perform a light trim with our Shear Magic haircut service. After fluffing their coats to perfection, we trim nails and cleanse scent glands for comfort and hygiene. To finish, many bunnies enjoy a sprinkle of our bespoke Magical Grooming Powder, and our freshly crafted, all-natural rabbit treats have quickly become a guest favorite.
9. What advice would you give to an aspiring entrepreneur?
