There have been a few rich and famous rabbit owners over the years and some have used their voice for rabbit advocacy while others, well let’s just say, seem to have been bunny parents for the photo ops more so than the love of the lago.
Rich and Famous Rabbit Owners and Advocates
Amy Sedaris, the American comedian, actress, and author, is a known advocate for rabbits and has expressed her affection for them in various ways. In her book titled “Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People,” she includes a section on crafting for rabbits, providing ideas and DIY projects for creating items and toys for pet rabbits.
Sedaris has worked alongside the House Rabbit Society creating informational videos promoting rabbit welfare and responsible ownership. Her involvement in advocating for rabbits is part of her broader commitment to animal welfare.
The depth of Sedaris’ affection for her rabbits can be read in a telling article from Vogue. She even had a specially designed deluxe hutch built by fashion designer Todd Oldham! Now, we all don’t have that luxury, but you can check out how to create your own awesome habitat!
Bob Barker had a rabbit named Mr. Rabbit who would follow him around the house. He said that Mr. Rabbit would help him in every way he could. Bob Barker was known to advocate for people to have their pets spayed and neutered – including rabbits.
Lucille Ball was known for her love of animals, including rabbits. She had a pet rabbit named “Daisy” during her lifetime. Daisy was a white rabbit that Lucille Ball adored and even brought onto the set of her television show “I Love Lucy.”
In fact, Lucy and Daisy became well-known as a pair, and the rabbit appeared in several episodes of the show. One of the most famous instances is in the episode titled “The Camping Trip,” where Lucy and her husband, Desi Arnaz, go camping, and Daisy the rabbit is featured in a humorous subplot.
Lucy’s affection for animals, especially Daisy, was well-documented, and her love for her furry friend added to her charming and relatable persona. Lucy’s connection with her pet rabbit remains a notable aspect of her legacy.
Kaley Cuoco, the American actress best known for her role in “The Big Bang Theory” is an animal lover and has had multiple rabbits as pets over the years. She has shared her experiences with her bun Simon on his own personal Instagram account simon_silly_rabbit!
Cuoco’s affection for rabbits and her commitment to animal welfare has made her a notable advocate for these furry creatures. She has used her platform to promote rabbit rescue and adoption as well as advocating for the proper care and treatment of rabbits as pets. Her love for her pet rabbits and her efforts to raise awareness about rabbit care have endeared her to animal lovers and the rabbit community.
Mike Pence, the former Vice President of the United States, had a pet rabbit named Marlon Bundo. Technically Charlotte Pence got Marlon off of craigslist while in college, but became the family bun. He ended up being known as BOTUS and was the first rabbit to fly on Air Force 2! Marlon Bundo is the main character in a children’s book series created by the Pence family, particularly Mike Pence’s daughter, Charlotte Pence, who wrote the books. Sadly Marlon Bundo passed away in 2022.
Kate Nash, a Brisitsh singer and songwriter is known for her love of her pet rabbit Fluffy. She has been very open about how Fluffy helped her with mental health, becoming vegan and advocating for cruelty free testing. She talks about her bunny’s “diva” like personality like any good bun mom!
Kelly Clarkson, the American singer, songwriter, and television personality, is known to be an animal lover and has had pet rabbits in her home. She has shared her love for her rabbits on on her talk show and social media accounts. While she may not be as vocal about her rabbits as some other celebrities, her love for her rabbits, is evident in her posts, and she has contributed to raising awareness about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare in general.
Other Rich and Famous Rabbit Owners
These rich and famous rabbit owners have either been spotted with their bunnos or talked about having them, but have not necessarily used their platforms for pet rabbit advocacy. Hopefully they willl become more vocal in the future as there is a growing awareness about the mistreatment of this 3rd most popular pet.

Rich and Famous Rabbit Owners…for Show
Celebrities such as Cara Delevingne, Rita Ora and Kendall and Kylie Jenner have had pet rabbits, but are they for the love of the lago or the love of posing for the camera? I would agree that they brought “awareness” of having a rabbit as a pet. On the other hand some of these poor buns have been photographed, instagramized and then seem to have worn out their welcome and disappeared. Of course this is just my opinion and should be taken as that.
