Welcome to 2025 and a new year of passionate, innovative, imaginative and creative featured small businesses! Biscuit’s Pet Pantry first caught my eye from their social media posts on Instagram, educating their supporters on pet rabbit care. This shows they employ a real dedication and commitment to the products they sell.
This is TDR’s first UK based featured small pet business. The one thing I have noticed in researching various articles is that the UK seems to be well versed in natural products for their small pets. Not only does BPP sell forage, dried roots, botanical treats and more, but they offer seeds so YOU can grow your own at home! They offer a great selection of toys, hay, bedding and grooming products as well.
January’s Passionate Featured Business
Biscuit’s Pet Pantry
1. What is your business?
Biscuits Pet Pantry – Providing High Quality, Safe and affordable Small Pet Food,
Treats and Bedding from Industry Leaders and Specialists in the UK.
2. Tell me about yourself, your buns.
My Name is Phil, I have studied Animal nutrition for over a decade, I am passionate about natural pet health care and nutrition. Between me, my partner and my step-daughter we care for Pombear and Munch, our two mixed Lop rescues. They play their part in the business by being our Top Taste-Testers!

3. What inspired you to start your business?
We rescued our first pair of Rabbits in 2021 – Biscuit and Munch. We were overwhelmed with the amount of misinformation and unsafe produce being marketed towards them. Having worked in my families dog food business and studying animal nutrition for 10+ years, I decided things needed to change. Shortly after adopting them, Biscuit started showing signs of E.C and after a long battle, we had to see her over the Rainbow Bridge. We then decided to start B.P.P to supply safe and affordable products for all small pets.
4. How is your business unique?
Using skills and knowledge gained from over a decade of working in the pet food industry and writing for various pet food publications in the field for cats and dogs, I search out and research every product before deciding to stock it. From ingredient production and sourcing to nutritional value and digestibility, I ensure that every item we stock is not only healthy, but has a function in improving health and wellbeing.

5. How long have you been doing this?
Our business has been running since 2023.
6. What does a typical work day look like?
As a small business owner and family man, our business is not yet at a size to support us so my typical day consists of working 8 hours at a local label print company, then spending 2 hours most evenings managing social media, website maintenance and packaging up any orders via either Tiktok or our main site, ready for shipping the following day. Saturdays are spent at my family’s pet food shop where I have an area set up for our products.
7. What is your biggest challenge?
Time and advertising is our biggest challenge. the UK market is quite saturated and many businesses are already established as supplying only rabbit safe products. We, however stock for all small animals.
8. What is your most popular product?
Our most popular items are our forage mixes – mixes of organic dried flowers, leaves and other botanicals – all formulated to compliment an area of health and well-being.

9. What advice would you give to an aspiring entrepreneur?
Be prepared! Prepared to persevere. It’s not easy in the beginning, but perseverance pays off over time. Within no time the financial and personal pay-off comes back around and makes it all worthwhile.
10. How can people order your products?
Our website is www.biscuitspetpantry.com – Free Delivery on Orders over £20
Our TikTok shop is @BiscuitsPet Pantry
Our on-site shop is at Naturally Healthy Pets in Kneesworth, just outside Royston
Final Thoughts…
Small business entrepreneurs are passionate about their products. That is why they start in the first place. As Phil said, the market is saturated with small businesses seeking to better the health of pet rabbits. My hope is that there is room for all businesses and maybe, just maybe, if we choose to support and purchase from them instead of big companies that use fillers and unhealthy ingredients, not only will the small businesses thrive, but our pet rabbits will too.
