I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again…I find it impressive when a teen has so much dedication to create and run a small business. Baylee’s motto…”I want to help make pets and their owners happy everyday!” Well I should say she is achieving that goal as she has just had her 100th sale!!!! Thumper’s Craft Shop

1. What is your business?

My shop is a teen-owned small business where I make healthy & homemade pet treats.

2. Tell me about yourself, your buns.

My name is Baylee and I have a rabbit named Thumper who just turned three!

3. What inspired you to start your business?

I’ve been inspired by the love I have for animals and giving their owners reliable, quality treats and toys! I research benefits of the ingredients I put into all my treats.

4. How is your business unique?

My business is unique because I talk to all my customers weekly and get to know them and their pets, while keeping up with orders & small batches of treats!

5. How long have you been doing this?

I started my business in 2022 doing custom pet drawings. Then I added treats back in December and sent a sample to a friend of mine to see if it would arrive fresh. And it did! So I decided to list a treat. That took off! By winter last year, I expanded my product line quite a bit, with treats! It’s been two years now that I’ve been doing this.

6. What does a typical work day look like?

A work day for me starts when I get an order. My Etsy shop will notify me every time, and I start on packing their order! Then I ship it out within two or three days.

7. What is your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge is making sure I get the same recipe and baking time in every time I make my treats… to ensure they come fresh and last a while.

8. What is your most popular product?

I now make bandanas, treats, toys, pet edits, jewelry, and more, but my most popular item is definitely treats! Rabbits love them and go crazy when they get a chance to get a bite.

9. What advice would you give to an aspiring entrepreneur?

I would advise them to start small, keep going, and to never give up no matter how long it takes to build your business. It’s taken me two years!

10. How can people order your products?
