1. What is your business?
Harley’s Delicious Delights offers 100% organic dehydrated fruits and vegetables, which are preservative free and home made with love! They are perfect healthy snacks for fur babies (bunnies, guinea pigs, etc…) and fur parents too.
2. Tell me about yourself, your buns.
I’m a single Latina mom to a little one, an adorable boy bunny named Harley, and a foster mom to a sweet little girl named Madrid. I currently work part-time as a nanny while working to grow my small business to support my little family. Harley’s a relaxed little guy who’s been with me for three years. He was discovered in a mall parking lot by someone who couldn’t care for him, so I brought him in. Since then, he’s become an irreplaceable part of my little family.
3. What inspired you to start your business?
I started this business as a love gesture to my Harley, who adores dehydrated cucumbers. I generally dislike giving him treats which contain preservatives. Hence with over 19 years of culinary experience under my belt and an immense love for bunnies, I decided to start making healthy treats for all furbabies and hoomans to enjoy!
4. How is your business unique?
I use only 100% organic fruits and vegetables to dehydrate slowly with care. I also created new treat flavors by mixing herbs with vegetables to enhance its flavor. Dill with cucumbers are currently my best seller! For a more wholesome experience, a foraging mix for fur babies will be launched soon! Herbs, such as dandelion greens, from the farmers market will be mixed with dehydrated treats. Watch out for it!
5. How long have you been doing this?
It’s still a baby business! It started in November 2024, and I am thankful for the early customers who supported me.
6. What does a typical work day look like?
A typical day consist of juggling part-time nanny duties, preparation of fruits/vegetables for dehydration, and enjoying quality time with my mini-me and 2 bunnies.
7. What is your biggest challenge?
Balancing motherhood while building a small business!! It’s tough when you’re just starting out with a small following on social media; people are unsure about your product and have to take a chance on it. Also, solo parenting can be overwhelming at times, but I’m committed to making it all work!
8. What is your most popular product?
Dehydrated cucumbers! Especially the ones with dill, they keep selling out!
9. What advice would you give to an aspiring entrepreneur?
Keep going—don’t give up, even when it feels like things aren’t moving forward! You have to be your own biggest cheerleader and keep believing that you can do it. Mistakes will happen, but that’s completely okay! All part of the growth process.
